Nature’s Storyteller: The Life of Gene Stratton-Porter, is authored by Barbara Olenyik Morrow (with book cover design by Stacy Simmer). This book is the first published book that I have had the pleasure to design for. I laid out all images, flowed all type, and made sure everything lined up right. It was fun being able to take a stack of copy files and great imagery, and turn it into a fine book for young and old alike. Everything from the chapter headers to the index in the back was laid out in InDesign CS4 with good use of paragraph styles. Doing a work like this takes a detailed eye and great consideration for readability. Please browse the images below for more detail.
